About the Chorus
Song of the Lakes, chapter of the Sweet Adelines International Organization, has a membership of about 60 women of all ages and occupations. The chorus members are from 24 Michigan communities, most of which are within a 70-mile radius of Davison, Mich. The members range in age from the teens to the '80s. As diverse as we are in backgrounds and age, we have one interest in common: we all love to sing and entertain!
The chorus meets on Mondays, 7-10 p.m. at the Davison Senior Center, 10135 Lapeer Rd., Davison, Mich. You are welcome to visit us at rehearsals anytime. Contact Joan at 810.742.0977.
Director, Kelli Kelly
Kelli Kelly is currently a Vocal Music Major at the University of Michigan/Flint working on both vocal and performing technique. She sings in the University Chorale and the elite "Chamber Singers". Kelli has been a member of the Sweet Adelines International organization since 1996 and loves the art of barbershop singing. She started as a member of the Song of the Lakes Chorus (formerly called Thumb Area Chorus) singing baritone. Kelli brings enthusiasm and her love of barbershop music to the Song of the Lakes Chorus and is looking forward to working on the quality of the chorus repertoire. She believes that a balance between performances and Regional Competition helps to keep the members interest and is part of a healthy chorus.
Kelli invites women of all ages who love to sing to come and join our group. It doesn't matter how high or low your voice is, we have a place for you in Song of the Lakes Chorus. Contact Joan at 810.742.0977.
